Q: After following the initial set-up instructions, I can't autodetect my MECH5 VCI?
A: Please make sure you are within 2 meters of the VCI (with no obstacles in the way) the first time you pair your device.
Please try the following if you are having issue configuring XLink:
Windows 10 may see the MECH5 VCI in the Bluetooth pairing list twice.
Step One: Un-pair all VCI's in your Bluetooth device list if you have tried pairing already
Step Two: Go to 'add a device' in your Bluetooth settings and wait for the VCI's to show up in the list
Step Three: Pair with the MECH5 VCI with this icon
Step Four: Once paired and drives downloaded/installed automatically. Please configure XLink and click auto-detect.
If pairing was unsuccessful with the above please follow step five onwards:
Step Five: Close and re-open XLink. Then try to auto-detect again.
Step Six: If unsuccessful, Please ensure your serial port is enabled by following the below steps.
How to enable my Windows Bluetooth serial port?
This can be done by following the below steps:
Ensure your VCI is paired
Note: Windows 10 may see the MECH5 VCI in the Bluetooth pairing list twice. Please pair with the second device in the list and ensure the serial port is enabled.

In properties please click the services tab > Ensure that the serial port (SPP) 'SPP' button is ticked. (See screenshot below)
